After I start streaming from my camera, I can't get anything but a black screen.

  There are several reasons why this could be occurring:

  1. the exposure time/gain of the camera is set to a manual, extremely low setting, causing the overall brightness of the image to appear "black"
  2. the subject the camera is pointing at has no to little lighting, causing a black/dark screen to occur
  3. the camera does not have a lens attached, but instead has a lens cap on.
