Using a FLIR M200 Pan and Tilt Marine Thermal Camera with Spinnaker SDK
AnsweredGood Morning.
I'm working on a University Project attempting to do some Machine Learning on a feed from a Marine Thermal Camera.
I've successfully installed the Spinnaker SDK and have my FLIR M200 set up, ethernetted into my Laptop. My laptop is dualbooted Windows and Linux and when I use Windows, I can access it via my networked devices and use the built in GUI to operate it no problem. This confirms to me the camera is working ok.
On Linux, when I run the example in Examples/Python3/Acquisition.py, it says there are zero cameras connected.
Is what I'm trying to on Spinnaker workable with the M200? The end state I'd like to get to is to take frames from the M200 as they come in and pass them into an OpenCV VideoCapture object to to conduct some ML.
Any help or guidance would be massively appreciated.

Hello John,
Unfortunately, the M200 is not a GigE Vision or USB3 Vision camera, so will not work with the Spinnaker SDK. The Spinnaker software is made to work with Machine Vision cameras only.
As this forum is meant only for Machine Vision cameras at this point, the best way to get in touch with the correct team is to your cameras support page (https://www.flir.com/support/products/m232/?vertical=maritime&segment=solutions#Overview) and select "Contact Support".
