    Hello Darran,

The image consistency errors could be caused by multiple factors, and we have many things to try in our knowledge base article pointed to by those errors.

However, if you are using our newer Spinnaker 3.X, we have a gige configuration adapter right in SpinView that can help optimize your host controller settings.  You can right-click on the gige interface in SpinView and configure adapter properties.

There is also a chance that the dropped packets are caused by the usb3-to-gige adapter.  If there is any way to connect directly to the laptop with your gige camera just to test if that helps resolve the issue (even if you plan to use your laptops gige cable for your own network), this can help narrow down the cause of the errors.

Please try our latest spinnaker and the adapter config GUI and a possible direct connection and let us know if that resolves the issues.

    Thank you,

    Demos

    Hi Demos,

Thanks for the feedback. I tried the updated Spinnaker but was still getting errors. Auto-configure of the Realtek USB-to-Ethernet adapter didn't help. I then purchased a ACC-01-1105: Dual Port 1Gige Network Interface Card, put this into a desktop PC, and it works flawlessly.

Question, if I wanted to run 3 GigE Blackflys from the same computer, would I need to get 2 of these network cards (in order to get 3 ethernet ports)?

    Cheers,

    Darran.

    Hello Darran,

I am just following up this as this was taken offline in a support ticket.

It seems you were using a realtek chipset and a USB-to-GigE adapter.  You tried a dedicated GigE card on a desktop PC and it worked fine.

Were you able to get 3 cameras working with no issues?  If you want to run them at full bandwidth, you need dedicated ports per camera, but if you are using less bandwidth, you could get away putting 2 cameras (or all 3) on a switch going to a single PC port.  It depends on if you need full resolution/framerate on each camera or not.

Just checking to make sure everything is working for you.

    Thank you,

    Demos
