Device Max Throughput is less than Link Speed? How to increase for greater framerate?
AnsweredIn spinview, it shows my link speed as 1250000000 which is expected given my hardware, but my Device Max Throughput is only 363282879, and this is limiting my maximum framerate. What dictates the device max throughput? Are there settings I can change to increase it?

Hi Ryan,
Just by using binning, you would not be able to get 60 fps; the documentation shows that 2*2 ISP binning would get you a max framerate of 39. If you were to switch from ISP binning to decimation, then you should be able to get the 60 fps value you want (using 2*2 decimation, 8bit ADC, and isp enable turned off, you get a max fps of 133, using BGR8 pixel format). These framerate details can be found int he support section of the camera webpage, under downloads->Oryx Camera Resources (make sure to login to website)->under your camera model->specs . https://www.flir.ca/support/products/oryx-10gige/?vertical=machine+vision&segment=iis#Downloads

Hi Ryan,
Could you let us know what camera model exactly you are testing with? In general, modifying settings that can affect bandwidth (such as framerate, packet size, packet delay, pixel format, width, height) can affect the throughput value. To maximize throughput, I would generally recommend having the camera start at default settings, then make sure that packet size is set to 9000, with jumbo packets enabled on the GigE host adapter.
To set the camera to factory default settings, you can powercycle the camera (disconnect the camera from power, then reconnect), assuming you don't have a custom userset set. To setup jumbo packets, as well as optimize your GigE settings overall, you can use the adapter config utility, that comes included with Spinnaker.

I am working with Oryx orx-10gs-123s6c-c. I have tried again, with the packet size set to 9000, with both the computer and GigE adapter mtu == 9000.The "device max throughput" is still only 363282879 (~2.91 Gbps), despite the "gev device link speed" being 10 Gbps. This is preventing me from achieving 60 fps with bgr8 pixels and 2x2 binning.
Any help you can offer re: troubleshooting is appreciated! Thank you.
