Powering a BFLY-U3-23S6M-C camera via the GPIO pin 1
AnsweredI want to power a BFLY-U3-23S6M-C camera via the GPIO pin 1.
The Blackfly U3 Technical Reference (p 24) states that the required voltage is 5V to 24V.
Will the power consumption of the camera, and thus also the CCD sensor temperature, depend on the voltage supplied?
Or to put the question differently: is the internal voltage regulation (to 3.3V I assume) done by a linear voltage regulator of by a switched voltage regulator?

Hi Rik,
apologies for the delay! Regardless of the voltage supplied, the power consumption would not change; the camera would act the same, consuming up to 3 Watts. This is true so long as the camera is being provided the appropriate amount of voltage (within the documented range).
