Lag between the video frame and the GPIO timestamp
Hello,
We are using a Chameleon3 camera (CM3-U3-13Y3M-CS) at 30 frames/s on Windows 10, operating either in a software or hardware trigger mode. To test GPIO input/output, we recorded a blinking LED driven by TTLs while simultaneously monitoring those TTL signals on the camera’s GPIO pin.
In our recordings, the LED appeared to switch states about 6 frames later than the corresponding event marker in the GPIO log. Initially, there was no lag, but after roughly 10 seconds, a 6-frame delay appeared and then remained consistent. This behavior was observed in both trigger modes.
Thank you for your help!
Best,
Naoya

Hello Naoya,
What software do you use to record these images? I'm wondering if this is caused by Spinnaker's image buffers. Could you please try to set buffer handling mode to newest only? Our source code example BufferHandling shows how to do that.Best regards,
Manuel

Thank you for your reply! We use a custom software written in Python using the Spinnaker PySpin package. We will try the "newest only" mode.
