Unlocking Adjustable Parameters on Chameleon3 CM3-U3-50S5M (Exposure, Gain, Resolution)
Hi all,
I’m currently working with the Chameleon3 CM3-U3-50S5M camera (Serial No. 16387285, Firmware Version 1.10.3.00) from Point Grey/Teledyne FLIR. However, I’ve run into an issue: many of the key parameters like exposure time, gain, and resolution appear to be locked as read-only when I try to configure them via the software interface.
Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a way to unlock or enable full access to these parameters, either through firmware updates, driver changes, or a specific SDK command?
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Hello Noble,
Which software are you trying to use with the CM3 camera?
Exposure Time and Gain will be locked if they are in Auto mode, so you can disable ExposureAuto and GainAuto and then you should be able to set the values.
Resolution you can not change while streaming, but if you stop streaming, you should be able to change it.
We have an article on common reasons some nodes are locked at Feature Locking in Spinnaker API | Teledyne Vision Solutions.
If this is not as simple as turning off auto or stopping to stream, please create a support ticket at https://flir.custhelp.com/app/ask and we can see what is going on.
Please help confirm if this helps resolve your issue.
Thank you,
Demos
