What focal range should I get for my lens?
AnsweredI want to get a BFS-PGE-04S2C, and I want to take video of a mice going through a maze; the maze is about 2 by 2feet; what sort of focal range should I be looking at to capture the entire maze?

When determining the lens you should get for your camera, there are 3 things you should know; the size of the sensor the camera uses, the distance between the camera and the subject, and the overall size of the subject (width and height). from your description, we can determine two things; the size of the subject (2 feet by 2 feet), and the size of the sensor (the BFS-PGE-04S2C uses a 1/2.9" sensor). Once you have determined the distance between the subject and the camera, you can use our lens calculator to determine a focal range value; https://www.flir.ca/iis/machine-vision/lens-calculator/
